No talent to host a show? It's not easy to do television in front of millions of people.

Saying it takes no talent to host a show is the same as saying it takes no talent to comment or analyze a baseball game.

Bob Barker is famous because of his demeanor, character, personality, and uncanny interest for every person that steps on stage. He truly cares (or does a great job pretending) for everyone that goes to the show.

I remember when Animaniacs would jab at Bob Barker in episodes. Great cartoon.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

"You'll not find more penny-wise/pound-foolish behavior than in Major League Baseball." - Rob Neyer

Does it really matter? It was a syndication show. It was on during the 7 o'clock hour in my area. I'm sure it varied for some people but it was a very slick presentation so i'm sure it was early evening for most markets.
