Video Card breaking? Help
Yesterday while my kid was playing a game on my PC (6800 vanilla AGP 1gig ram, AMD 2800) and the monitor went blank and a loud buzzing noise came through the speakers. It happened three times while playing a game...any game. I did a system restore in case something happened today. Then my wife was surfing the web and the video stopped working. When we reboot it comes back on. It has happened about six times in three days. Any thoughts?
Thanks.DON'T PANICTags: None -
Re: Video Card breaking? Help
It has a fan that is still operating. I also checked too make sure it was snug in the AGP slot and took out the case's power cord and put in a different one...that didn't help either.DON'T PANICComment

Re: Video Card breaking? Help
That fan is spinning as well. I ran Rivatuner and played SW Lego..the video card went from 69 degrees to about 90 during the game. After the game it went down to 78 degrees. I am uncertain what to do. I really don't want to spend the money on a complete upgrade.
UPdate: I installed speedfan and it said my core cpu temperature is 61 degrees and had a little burning symbol next to it.
Update 2: Played fear and the video card went up to 108 degrees and the core went up to 68 degreesLast edited by Spongedaddy; 10-10-2006, 08:31 PM.DON'T PANICComment

I'd say you best turn off your CPU immediately lest you fry your CPU. Then either fix the fan/cooling of the CPU yourself or take it to someone to fix it for you. Seriously man, that's way too hot!!Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20
