Question about (2) home theatre systems

1. Philips Hts 6500 2.1 system.

2. Sherwood VR-670 System


Does anyone have either of these? If so would you please help me choose one. I know I can get the Sherwood model for around 229.00 however I am very curious how this sounds because the 2 speakers have only 25w per channel.


The Philips on the other hand I can get for around 329 and this has 100 per channel. This unit also has the HDMI connector. I am in a smaller room and don't want the messy wires via 5.1 or higher receiver. Also both of these units have dvd players built in. I need a new one anyways. I was just wondering if anyone has any of these 2 units. If so please share your thoughts.

i can't speak to the sherwood but from what i've heard of phillips at various stores, they sound pretty crappy at anything medium-high volume.

anyone try the sherwood. I realize these won't give me tru surround I know this. I'm just looking for a decent 2.1 system for my room. Thanks Odogg
