Anybodyever been to one of those Hip-Hop Summits?
My company is sponsoring the Hip Hop Summit this weekend and I have the opportunity to go. I know Russell Simmons, Paul Wall, Erykah Badu, Musiq Soul Child and a few others are going to be there. I'm still not sure if i'll go but it is free for us. Anybody ever been to one?"Never trust a big butt and a smile."-Ricky Bell

I wouldn't go to see any of them for free. However, it might be a decent social event if you can get past the mediocre music.Enjoy football? Enjoy Goal Line Blitz!Comment

Re: Anybodyever been to one of those Hip-Hop Summits?
They don't perform at these things, they just sit there and talk like they're actually important people. I went to one in 2000 and the panel was Eve, Swizz Beatz, Kimora Lee Simmons and some random "conscience" MC, among others who I can't remember (somebody from the Source was there, too). They sit there and talk about the "power of hip-hop" and how they can change things blah blah blah, teach the children blah blah blah...
It's just a BS, ego stroke-fest. I'm not saying don't go, but from my eperiences, it's just a bunch of rappers, producers, journalists and various hip-hop "scholars" types trying to sound more important than they actually are. Though you might find something redeeming from that day.xbl gamertag: jiggidyjames72Comment
