Re: All Time Most Scary Movie
The Saw series, More grusome then scary, Exorcist, It
And this one movie I believe that came out in the 70's I dont know the name but these monsters (Zombies maybe) would look at their victims and the victims would throw up their insides and their eyes would bleed till they died. Does anybody know what im talking about
There was a (probably cheezy if I saw it again) movie from the '70's that was a "Saturday Afternoon Thriller"....I think it was..."The Crazies" ....scared me back then..
But "The Exorcist" has to be in just about everyone's top 3. I saw this in the theatres(probably a re-release a couple of years after the original release...remember video was just starting out!) and the girl I went with literally dug her nails into my arm. That movie got to me too. So did Jaws...good call on that one.

Re: All Time Most Scary Movie
There are a lot of Japanese horror movies that are freaky and scary as hell but not a lot of people are familiar with those so I'll just stick to mainstream stuff...
- The Exorcist: Already been mentioned and covered so I don't need to go into detail.
- Poltergeist: Any movie that deals with the supernatural in a bad way is freaky to me. Very good build up in this movie with a lot of tense moments...it's the simple stuff though that freaked me out. I remember the scene where JoBeth Williams' character is in the kitchen and you see the chairs out everywhere, she leaves and the camera pans back into the kitchen, and this time they're all stacked up...lol stuff like that just gives me the chills. You also have that damn clown, ugh, and other freaky stuff. Not to mention, there were real life implications with the cast and crew...the "Poltergeist curse" similar to The Exorcist. Stuff like that really adds to the lore and genuine creepiness of the film. Who ever thought that a little blonde hairded girl sitting in front of a scrambled TV set saying "they're here" would ever be some damn freaky?
- The Entity: Oh...my...God. This is such an underrated movie and one that still messes with me to this day. Basically it's about a woman who is tortured physically, mentally, AND sexually by a demonic force. If that isn't enough, everyone thinks she's crazy so it continues to go on for quite some time. One of the freakiest movies of all time still as far as I'm concerned and I still am uneasy watching this movie. If you haven't seen it, go out and get a copy now.
- Halloween: One of my favorite movies all time and even though I've seen it 1,574,735 times...it still makes me squirm. It's just so simple yet entirely scary at the same time. The Mike Myers character and the music score make this one...without those two, this wouldn't be nearly as freaky as it is. Classic.
- Black Christmas: Again, another underrated gem. Cool premise with great plot twists, you never can quite get a grasp on what is going on and it always keeps you on the edge of your seat. The killer in this movie is very well done, he's a loon and trust me you find that out clearly. This movie is worth it alone just for his bizarre and creepy phone ramblings in different voices...WTF?!? Awesome stuff.
- Stephen King's IT: I'll make it simple....demonic clown, 'nuff said.
- The Shining: What a mind trip. Jack Nicholson was at all his time best here and quite frankly, just as scary as Freddy, Jason, Mike, Leatherface, etc. To watch him unravel and then go WAY off the deep end was crazy to see...it was done in a harrowing yet cool fashion. The hotel itself was weird too...you never quite knew what you were going to get with it. Oh and yes, the scene with the twins makes this movie.
- Jacob's Ladder: This is like an acid trip gone bad....what on earth is this lol??? One downright freaky mindtrip gone bad...this is one of those movies you just have to see to believe. It's whack as hell but it touches a nerve and leaves you uneasy after you watch it.
- When a Stranger Calls: I'm talking about the original here...not the abomination of a remake we saw. This is on the list simply for the first 20-30 mins. which is to be honest, arguably the scariest and most genuinely creepy minutes in any horror movie you can find. I really doubt ANYONE wanted to babysit or answer the phone for that matter after watching that movie lol.Patrick Mahomes > GodComment

Re: All Time Most Scary Movie
I can't really pick one because nowadays, nothing scares me. I'm not going to list ones that scared me as a kid cause they aren't even close to as scary as they were then. I mean there are the films that make me jump, but actually scare me no. Since I can't pick a favorite and since most have been listed I'll throw one out there that noone has listed but surely some have seen:

Re: All Time Most Scary Movie
I'm a pretty massive pansy when it comes to the scary stuff, but my favorite is Halloween. I didn't find it too scary though. Out of the limited amount of stuff I've seen the original The Amityville Horror (sp?) scared the nads off me.Comment

You might be talking about the movie "Scanners".

Re: All Time Most Scary Movie
In the wake of Friday the 13th, I want to know your all time top scary movie. Of course we're all guys in here, we dont get scared. But what is that one movie that gave you the chills when you watched it..... Made the hair on the back of your neck stand..... Gave you the shivers....etc, etc.
My vote would go to: The Excorcist
It does'nt freak me out now because I've seen it about 5 times now but I it did scare the hell out of me when I first watched it. What would be your pick.Comment
