    Re: The Grudge 2

Well I finally saw The Grudge 2 on DVD tonight, and boy is this movie all over the place. I really don't know what to say as Blzer has nailed it on the head with this movie. There weren't any parts that made me creeped out or that jumpiness factor like the original Grudge had. This series imo is not that great when compared to The Ring. Yes, I'm going to compare both movies here because The Grudge 2 takes many elements from The Ring series. When compared to The Ring 2, this is a better movie.

Finally, the annoying croaking noise is revealed as to whats causing this. If we ever do get The Grudge 3, please wrap it all up and end this darn series finally. We know it's about a Japanese Haunted House and the incident that occured within that house, and what led to all the evil being unleashed for many reasons than just the deaths in the home.

I loved The Grudge but The Grudge 2 was a mess.

It wasn't scary and almost all the characters were unlikable. There's nothing original in this film.

I have a bad feeling we will see The Grudge 3 this Halloween.

I'm guessing '08 or '09. These kinds of movies take up much more post-production time than pre-production, and there's a good change that Japan will get their sequel before us (though they will more than likely be independent of each other).

But let me say this: As much as I love the Saw franchise over the Grudge franchise, I would love to see another Grudge sequel about 100000x more than I would want to see a Saw sequel at this point in time.

I don't know if I can deal with another SAW or GRUDGE, both franchises have run their course.

Well, the Grudge series seems like it could just do ongoing Halloweens with scarefests every time. Saw can do this as well, but it would ultimately tarnish what made the original (and perhaps the next two sequels) so great... because of the Legend of Jigsaw, etc.

Anyway, The Grudge was on TNT last night. I must say, though I wasn't scared or anything, this movie was 1000x better than the sequel. I don't like that Sarah Michelle Gellar was not on screen as much as she should have been, though.

The Director's Cut of The Grudge is watchable at least. Ju-On is still 1000X better though. I have no interest in ever seeing Grudge 2.
