As a young kid I always thought it would be awesome to see this type of innovation.
Now that I'm 24 and slighty older, albeit still young, I think of this as scary moreso than excitiing.
I don't know why, exactly, but it just seems like too much.

BCIs (Brain computer interfaces) are becoming more and more feasible - I've worked on developing one for a period of time.
Right now, they're mainly used for the paralyzed and other disabled individuals. The idea is to obtain a legitimate signal from EEG (electrical activity recorded from the scalp) to act as a command signal to control some function. I've read papers where some people were able to move a cursor around a screen just by thinking.
I did several experiments with special electrodes to recognize index finger movement from the EEG. There are papers on people who have actually done this so it is possible. Even though one of my colleagues was able to "see" a signal that coincided with the finger movement, I couldn't and my pattern classification tools also couldn't see any signal either. Unfortunately, there are all kinds of problems involved with using the EEG because it's such a tiny signal to begin with.
It is possible, and with more effort, this would probably work pretty well, although I returned to working on a previous project that I put more time into.
