    hdmi

    i think the ladder is:
    hdmi
    component
    svideo
    composite (yellow/red/white)
    coaxial

    for standard consumer prodcuts

To be honest, when viewing HD material from my cable box, I see little difference in picture quality between HDMI, DVI and component. With that said, I bought a DVI cable so I'm using it.

      Ruben - You're missing DVI:

      HDMI
      DVI
      Component
      Svideo
      Composite
      Coax

yeah, HDMI. Think you have to use an HDMI cable if you want 1080p too (could be wrong). I wouldn't buy one of the expensive ones though. Got mine at Wal Mart for $20
