    Wireless Router

I've decided to look into a wireless router and was wondering if anyone could recommend a cheap yet quality product for someone on a college budget. So far I've seen this G-Link router for around $40 or so.

Dlink and Linksys are good budget routers.

and ignore the $20 savings thing...I'm pretty sure it's been impossible to spend more than $50 on this thing in the last 6+ months.

              Good luck!

IMHO, I've had Linksys as my first router, and I didn't think it was that great. Yes its pretty reliable, but after a while, mine died on me. Also there were times when I wasn't able to pick up any signals. However, you can't judge a book by its first page. So just because first Linksys router was a dud, doesnt mean the next product will be too.

I recently have the Netgear router (not sure which one) and so far its worked great. I have absolutely no down-time nor do I have any problems with it whatsoever.

Also, a great place to purchase cheap tech stuff is newegg.com I ALWAYS buy my stuff from them, fast delivery and good customer service.

Also, a great way to find out if a product is good or bad, is to look at the reviews. Newegg has customer reviews for all their products, so you get a firsthand review of whatever you might wanna buy.

Yup. Got the same one as well. Great router.

I have a Dlink that was pretty cheap. I got it 3 or so years ago and I've never had a problem with either it or the network card.

Don't kno about the others but LinkSys has been pretty XBL friendly.

Anything hard about setting it up or is it as simple as plugging in the cords and going to work?

Not hard to setup, but you need to change some of the defaults.
