Thats an article all about the changes as well as how to modify certain things. I would recommend checking it out.
I didn't know that the browser will dowload pages it thinks you might view. I turned that off since I hate to use up so much bandwidth on pages I'll never go to.Last edited by soxboy7; 10-27-2006, 09:17 AM.Comment

Re: Firefox 2 released today
One new feature of the Firefox 2 that I don't like is the search under the right-click menu. Before, if you highlighted some text and right-clicked, you could search for that text in Google. Now it searches according to whatever your search bar thingy at the top is on. I wish it would just stay as always searching google on the right-click menu. I'll have to look around for an extension to do that for me.

Re: Firefox 2 released today
I'm souring a bit on FF 2.0. Memory leaks were my biggest beef with FF 1.0 and 1.5, and if anything, they're even WORSE with FF 2.0.
FF 2.0 locked up on me this morning, and a quick look at Windows Task Manager showed the pig was using nearly 190 K of memory. That's a joke, especially since I use no extensions that are well-known memory hogs.
FF 1.5 topped out for me around 150-160 K, and that was still too much.
Mozilla needs to make a fix for the memory leaks Priority No. 1 for FF 2.1 or FF 3.0.
Take care,

Anyone having issues with 2.0 locking up and crashing? It does it for me about once a session. Getting annoying. How I wish, how I wish you were here. Re: Firefox 2 released today
I'm becoming less impressed with FF 2.0 by the day. I'm considering returning to FF 1.5, which was more stable, had fewer memory leaks and through extensions had many of the same functions and features built into FF 2.0.
Take care,

Re: Firefox 2 released today
2.0's working fine for me so far. No lockups or crashes. 1.5 was very slow on my work PC, but so far 2.0 is running a lot more smoothly. Who knows.
As for the memory leaks, the FF folks have stated that they won't be fixed until the 3.0 release.Helen: Everyone's special, Dash.

Re: Firefox 2 released today
Is anybody else getting a really slow connection? Ever sinced I switched up to FF2, my pages are slow to load. Even google.com is slow to load. Is there an extension to make it a little faster?
Also what other extensions do you have?Comment

I've read this thread and searched around and saw some others with the same issue. Has anyone figured out how to re-enable Alt-S to post or am I doomed to going back to using Internet Explorer when I am on OS?Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: Firefox 2 released today
Ok, i just upgraded to 2.0, well actually I got my new computer (old one, just fixed) and installed 2.0 and I'm going nuts because when I hit Alt-S it goes to the stupid history instead of just sending my post to OS.

You can either use Shift-Alt+S to submit or you can change it back to how it was using about:config
Change:
ui.key.chromeAccess to 5
ui.key.contentAccess to 4
This will allow you to use Alt for webpage shortcuts and Shift-Alt for Firefox's menu shortcutsStreaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20
