1. Why would the police need warrants to arrest these guys?? If i'm walking down the street and shoot someone in front of a police officer does he shrug his shoulders and say "well damnit, I don't have an arrest warrant for you Shaun so I guess there is nothing I can do".
2. What does the financial arrangement between NBC and Perverted Justice have to do with anything? I suppose the naysayers would say that they are profiting from this so they are entrapping people. Well if that is the case then prove entrapment! You cannot prove entrapment on this, it's been tried before in Texas and it failed. Why? Because it's not entrapment. The undercover person chatting never brings up the sexual or meeting part first.
The media profiting from crime is not bad. After all, if it was, every time a news station broadcast a car chase would that mean the person in the car chase should be let go because, God forbid, a network news station profited from that car chase? That makes no sense and cannot be applied here because if it was it would have to be applied equally in other scenarios. The only aspect profiting from a crime should be disallowed and illegal is entrapment, see above paragraph.
3. There is no paperwork for the arrests? When they speak of this in the clip what does it show? THEM FILLING OUT THE PAPERWORK. WTF? I suppose they didn't use form N83-A per correct procedure and instead used form N83-B by mistake so that negates the crime? Laughable.
I'm all for civil rights but I fail to see where it's anyone's right to go on the internet, find an underage kid, go to their house and try to have sex with them. There are no civil rights violations there. People have gone beyond the entire issue of civil rights into the area of "if police aren't 100% positive on the perfect way everyone wants things done then the crime never happened". They had one of these sick bastards on last night that brought his five year old son with him so he could hook up. He took him into the house and everything. Chris Hansen couldnt believe it. They didnt even question him and just told him to leave since he had his son with him. Then the cops arrested him and called the kids mom to come and get him. That dude should be locked up for life.Comment
