We were talking about some of these in one of my business classes. The best one I saw was for a chainsaw:

"Do not attempt to stop chain with hands or genitals."

Re: Dumb and funny warning labels on products

OK, guess it's my turn to dig up a really old thread. I was just looking at the manual for my new cellphone and saw a warning that made me laugh and I thought, "gee, we should have a stupid warning labels thread on OS" so I did a search and found this one. Some of the ones already posted in the thread are pretty ridiculous as well.

Anyways, some of the warning labels you see nowadays are so absurd that you have to wonder how (or why) anyone would do some of the things that these labels say not to. The sad truth is that there are idiots out there who have grossly misuued products in truly stupefying manners only to be injured and then sue the manufacturer for damages. Whats even sadder is that these people often win and are thus rewarded for their own stupidity.

Now back to my reason for digging up this thread. One of the warning in the manual for my new cellphone reads

"Never place your phone in a microwave oven as it will cause the battery to explode"

Now why on Earth would anyone put a cellphon e in a microwave???

To dry it after dropping it in the toilet of course.

To see what it does. Check out youtube. There's people who microwave anything they can think of just to see what it does

My mother has a pair of electric scissors that has a warning that has become a running joke.

"The My-T-Fine Cutter is not for personal care. Do not attempt to cut your hair, nails, teeth or skin."

                            Teeth?
