I'll always remember his role as Curly from "City Slickers" even if it wasn't one of his better roles.

It seems like alot of bad stuff has happened to famous people over the last few days. Walsh's illness, Jack Palance's death, Ed Bradley's death, and of course Britteny Spears and K-Fed's divorce.

Palance was one of the classic character actors of all time. A legend, in that regard.

Deaths come in threes indeed.

Yeah a lot of the young folks here don't know much about what Palance did as an actor. He was a leading man but damn was he a great character actor. I've only seen one of his older film works (SHANE) and he was brilliant as the heavy in that flick.

IMO he played the most intimidating villain in Western history with his portrayal of gunfighter Jack Wilson in "Shane". Despite little screen time in the film Palance recieved an Oscar nomination for the role.

Shane was one of my favorite movies as a kid. My grandparents had it on laser disc. Watched it like a hundred times. Palance was awesome in it.
