    Laptop Help

As we all know, Christmas is almost month away. My brother has been wanting a laptop for what seems like since he could talk. He'll be starting college next year and for Christmas my parents are seriously considering buying him one for once. I know very little about laptops, so I figured I'd come here and get some suggestions.

The price limit is $600, but anything less than that would be excellent. My brother is no gamer, so all he would use it for would be internet access, maybe some music listening, and typing up reports, etc.

Go to Dell's website and get one. You can also find good deals on their refurbished laptops as well.

      Re: Laptop Help

If its simply for internet access and music, 2 key things you really need alot of is

      RAM (Memory) and HD space.

The HD (hard drive) is where your programs and music will be stored in. So the bigger the HD the more music/programs you can have.

RAM will determine how fast your computer will run. The more RAM you have, the faster it will load up pages, run music, etc. Most laptops already have at least 512 MB, but I would recommend 1GB.
