Before I even saw the top ten list for over-extended sports cities, Pittsburgh came to my mind. Glad to see I wasn't far off.

Interesting to see that only two cities on the first fit the bill for an expansion baseball team.

          Very interesting.

It'll probably happen when David Stern steps down (whenever that is, the miserable little man), but I doubt we'll see a Vegas NBA team soon.

Philly doesn't have a MLS team? I'm surprised. Philly has just about everything else, from the Phantoms, Phillies, Flyers, Sixers, Eagles, Soul, Owls, Wildcats, etc.

I wouldn't care if they never expanded in the NFL or MLB again. It is already hard enough to win a championhsip without adding more teams and watering down the talent.

surprised Buffalo is on the list... cause they only have hockey and football, no pro baseball or basketball team..

UNLV barely sells out their college games. if at all.

i guess that appeal of superstars could sell out T&M.

i agree about OKC though.... the first nba game this year in OKC was like a college atmosphere. very enertaining and loud.

                theydeserve it more than anyone.

then again most of these markets have minor league teams that never draw anyone in.... but of course you have no BIG NAME people.... it seems like that alone could bring out the people to any market....

Doubtfuly. We can't support a hockey or basketball team, we do get by just enough. Add to the fact that fans here love the Yanks and Mets, I doubt a baseball team would get much support.

Personally, I think Hunstville,AL deserves a pro baseball team. Either Huntsville or Birmingham/Hoover.

Virginia Beach needs a team-BAD, I know the Hornets were thinking about it. maybe in 20 years.

Hm no mention of Toronto as being over-extended or being a good market for the NFL?

Seems a little odd and US-Centric. Oh well.

I'd be surprised to see a Toronto NFL team.

                          Wouldn't really seem right.

Realistically it'll probably never happen but now that Ted Rogers and Maple Leafs Sports&Entertainment have basically teamed up, you never know.

Interestingly Toronto almost got a team in the early 70s but the NFL didn't want to interfere with the CFL.

NFL or MLB teams would get a lot of support in San Antonio.
