    Wireless Router

Could somebody recommend a wireless router to pick up? I'm going to pick up the Wii (hopefully) this weekend and would like to have a wireless router set up before then so I can play me some Mario 64.

*Linksys WRT54G Router* Seems to be a popular choice around here, and has served me well. I have my gaming stuff set up in the basement and the router in the office on the second floor and don't have any problems.

That linksys tends to be popular b/c of the firmware available to make the signal stronger, stable, etc... but honestly, any wireless routers these days by reputable companies are pretty much acceptable for general home use.

It depends on the situation. I game from my basement and my router is the second level of my house. That's why I use the SRX model. If you don't have a great distance between the two, then yes, go with the cheaper model.

I game in the basement with the router on the second floor (as I mentioned in my first post) and I don't have any issue with the $50 model....it is on the same side of the house though, not sure what the performance would be like if the router was on the other side of the house.

Same router and same situation. Always running at full connection and no problems either.

When I go outside to work on the laptop I get full connection as well. Great router IMO!

My Wii will be in the basement with the router in the family room on the same level. So, its basically going to be on the other side of the wall.

You would need a PS2 Network Adapter and an Ethernet cable.

                        http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Playstati.../dp/B000051QDD

You would need to connect the router and the PS2 using the cable. After that, all you would need is an online capable game (such as any sports games) and your set!

Just in case you meant a wireless router, I don't think, at least none that I know of, there is a wireless adapter for the PS2. You need a wired connection in order for you to go online. Hope that helps.

So, I went with this one and it came in the mail today. I hooked up all the cables correctly, but it wouldn't connect to the internet. Anybody know what could possibly be wrong?
