The amount of future popular actors in this series is ridiculous.

Re: Band of Brothers
Great to see this thread bumped.
I echo the sentiments that this is the finest mini-series ever. In fact, I just consider it a 10-ish hour long epic war film.
I dare anyone to watch the first episode and not keep going, even if you've seen the series many times
Also, how many times have you finished 'Points' and not wanted to go right back to "Curahee" again?
BTW, for those wondering...it's worth getting on Blu over DVD if you have the capability for both. Looks spectacular, better than I thought it would.
Surprise of the series: David Schwimmer. I could not believe that he pulled off that role like he did. Spot on. Go read the book and see for yourself.
.
'The Pacific' wss excellent in it's own right. It's much heavier, much more grim because of the difference in the campaigns and the enemy. I liked it, but it was much harder to watch. Also, it really focuses on three Marines, not a whole company so you don't have the comraderie that comes thru on BoB.
I'd say give The Pacific a rent, and then judge if you want to own. I can watch BoB anytime, and I've seen it several times. "Pacific' I've watched once, and don't plan to again anytime soon.Last edited by Lieutenant Dan; 07-24-2012, 02:28 PM.GO 'HAWKS!

Re: Band of Brothers
My dad never watched the whole thing. He considers it boring and only makes it through half an episode before turning it off.Comment
