I am buying a 37" Vizio today and have some ??'s

How does the regular X-Box look on LCD?

you don't need anything special, but when my friend was looking for hdtvs when he got his 360 at launch I found the Vizio 32" and it looks great with the VGA...

I put my x-box on widescreen, but it doesn't look that great. Should I get Component cables.

Generally speaking, component cables should make a big difference although just get the cheap brand. For the most part, the type of cable is the only thing that matters, not the brand.

I know for the PS2, upgraded cables make a very noticeable difference and my brother had an XBox (now a 360) and said the component cables also made a big difference for the XBox on his HD TV (4:3, direct 36" CRT).

I got a 32 inch vizio and the 360 looks awesome on it, the xbox looks a little pixalted a smeard. But I think most Hdtv will give you that picture w an xbox.
