The end of the Sports Machine

The George Michael Sports machine will go off of the air in March. Me and my bro would watch this every Sunday Night back in the day. It was always on after Sports Sunday on NBC5 Chicago late Sunday nights. I moved out of that viewing area a while back, wonder if he is still on during that time period? Anyone else watch this growing up?

Oh man, I used to stay up late once in a while and watch the show. It was pretty good for the pieces Michael would do. I remember one piece he did on Doc Gooden and how he had turned his life around and talking to kids about the dangers of drug use.

Sadly the Sports Machine got dwarfed by all the major sports networks etc etc. It was a quality show and while I've seen bits and pieces of the show over the last couple years it just isn't the same mainly because you can get all these highlights hours and sometimes days before.

Damn.... that makes me sad! I used to watch every Sunday night growing up too. I ended up going to school in WV and have stayed here in WV and haven't seen it since. I had actually forgotten about that show.

For a long time I never had cable TV, so I would watch this every week.

Loved the Sports Machine. Just touch the screen, and it will give us the play!

Classic show is right! Always loved the slow-motion clips and the human interest stuff he would narrate.

Wow, I never realized he was nationally syndicated. He was never on when I lived in Vermont, but he was on in Massachusetts.

Man, Sports Machine was the absolute best... As I got older, it kind of faded from my memory. I remember seeing it on TV a couple of years ago, and I was like, "This is still on?" I was sure it had been cancelled way before that.

I applaud him for taking the first step and showing loyalty to his staff.
