    CSTV

I was browsing college basketball games in my cable line-up and was literally shocked to see CSTV listed as showing a game tonight..

I checked the channel, and it actually existed. Furthermore, I just got off the phone with a representative (Comcast), who confirmed that the channel had recently been added to my sports tier channel line-up.

This channel seems sweet! Does anyone else get it? What are your thoughts?

Previously, I've subscribed to the Fox College Sports channels (Comcast sports tier), and while they are a bit bush league, they did offer nice coverage on an otherwise non-existent college sports channel line-up. Only recently they added CSTV, and it just seems like a great channel. Right now they're showing a classic football game between Ohio State and Michigan, which is a nice build up to tomorrow's game. I also see college hockey, as well as other lesser covered sports, which is refreshing.

I suspect I'll be watching this channel quite often, as I find college sports in general to be very exciting and played with passion.

Does anyone else get the channel? What are your thoughts?

It's a great channel if you love college sports, but I must say the announcing is kinda bland. Not a big fan of the presentation either.

However, because Conference USA and CSTV have a contract, I've got to watch all the Memphis games on CSTV, if they aren't on ESPN/ABC/CBS.

I get it here on campus (PSU). I never had it before... they show so many sports. They even showed a field hockey game one night.

        Re: CSTV

they basically show CUSA and MWC sporting events most of the time, with an occasional Pac10 volleyball or other conference event thrown in now and then

its alright, not really anything special

Just got it this year at PSU. Good channel if you are a fan of college sports. Has mostly C-USA and MWC football games, and shows a lot of college basktetball. Also has a lot of other sports you wouldn't see on ESPN, like college soccer, hockey, field hockey, and volleyball.

EDIT: bgeno, what part of campus do you live on?

The New Mexico State / Loyola game tonight was fantastic!

Neither are big name schools, but I suspect the highlight will make SportsCenter. The last shot was insane.

Ahh, you saw it also? I was wondering if anyone else was watching the game. Huge comeback by LMU, but that final shot made my jaw drop. I still don't know how he got that shot off.

It was a nice game.. I love the college game. There is always an undercurrent that the game isn't over, despite the score. The passion and atmosphere is just amazing.

It was especially sweet to see such excitement so early in the season, when many teams are blowing out scrubs and boosting their records.

And the last shot was just nuts. It was just quality basketball.. I already signed up for NBA League Pass this year, but am very strongly considering also adding ESPN's Full Court package, even though I know the NBA package would be neglected if I did add the college one.

Not to go off on a tangent, but I have to balance the availability of college hoops on "regular" TV with the cost and availability the Full Court package provides.

Regardless, I think college basketball is easily one of my favorite sports, period, and it's nice to find another channel that covers the occasional game.

Yeah, the game's never over in college. I first saw NMSU up by 20 and changed the channel to something else. I switch back and they are within 5 and eventually pull off the win. It's what makes college basketball so great.
