    HDMI Cables

I'm looking to buy some HDMI cables today for my PS3. I have a Sony SRXD Projection TV but I have no clue which cables I should buy. I'd prefer not to spend a ton but the prices for these things are ranging from like $40-$100.

Is there any chance the cables were included with the TV and I just dont remember?

Any cables I should look into getting?

My brother just bought a $1700 HD TV and the cables were not included. They cost $100. I guarantee you they were not included with the PS3.

        Thanks.

I'm not really an HD expert, but does the AWG matter? I mean does my TV require a certain AWG from the cable to fit or does it not matter?

          quick, dirty description of AWG
professional audio video installations, professional AV, proAV, audio, video, digital media, projection technology, LED, cinema, digital cinema, optics, cameras, file formats, bandwidth, recording, acoustics, room acoustic, wire-resistance, AWG wire parameters, AWG wire data, MIDI, Cobranet, ISDN, showcontrol, mediensteuerung, 100V installations, 70V installations, RS-232, RS232, RJ-45, Sony 9-pin, VGA monitor pinout, directivity index, inverse square law, critical distance, normalled patchbays, half-normalled patchbays, AV companies, AV manufacturers, inch to mm conversion, telephone codes, international telephone codes, country codes, coax cable, DMX512, lighting fixtures

ultimately, for a console gaming system that'll be close to your TV... AWG hardly matters that much. I know you're looking at that 3 foot HDMI for 2 bucks.... just make sure it'll be long enough for you.

composite... but if you had component PS2 cables they would work for you.

As far as the HDMI cables... since its an all digital signal similar to a USB cable, so long as you're not talking about a really long cable, the quality doesnt really matter. If you're just talking about ~5ft then the cheapies will work just fine.

Do you have a cable box? Just go to the local office and ask for an HDMI cable to hook up your box with. I've picked up two this way!

Monoprice is a good bet, as is Blue Jeans Cable...but damn, the cable company deal is the easiest, since they don't pay **** for them!

I just bought a 50" Samsung DLP last week. I needed the HDMI cables, they made a very noticable difference in picture quality. I bought a pack of seven variety HD Hook Up cables at Costco for $70. Not sure how many I'll ever use, but they always have quality stuff there.

Check out this article and chart...you'll see that the cheaper ones are just as good (or even better) than some of the more expensive ones:

                            article: http://www.pcworld.com/article/id,12...s/article.html

                            chart: http://www.pcworld.com/zoom?id=12177...able&zoomIdx=1

I have bought several cables from Cable Warehouse since reading that article and have been very happy with them.
