Compatible only with Windows 95... anyway to get around this?

I found my old Rocket Jockey game, and I'm looking for a way to play it. When I put the CD in, it says "This program requires Windows 95". Like probably all PC owners here, I am no longer using Windows 95, and I'm at an XP these days.

But I remember back when I had an HP, I think I was using either Windows 2000 or Windows ME. I remember being able to run the game on there, but it was not Windows 95.

Is there any way that I could possibly get this game to run on my computer? Any kind of "codecs" or something, possibly?

Does going into the "Properties" of the shortcut, clicking on the "Compatibility" tab, and checking the box "Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows 95" do anything?

I don't know if this always works.

Couldn't find the Compatibility tab. I haven't even been able to install the game yet. Setup requires me to be in Windows 95 also.

Otherwise, yeah... I see that option available for something like Call of Duty on my PC.

EDIT: Found it when I found the properties for Setup when I "explored" the game. Thanks! I'll let you know if it ends up working!

        Damnit!

Okay, Setup starts up, and it begins to analyze my computer, etc. Then I get a pop-up saying "WinSniff Performance Utility has encountered an error and needs to close blah blah blah". All of you guys know what kind of message what I'm talking about.

        Anyone know what WinSniff is?

EDIT: Then after I Send Error Report, another small window pops up and says "Unable to find analysis file TechSupp.dat." Any help here is VERY much appreciated.

Hey folk. I'm trying to run Rocket Jockey (a Win95 game) in XP, and it won't work. Even with the Compatability Mode turned on and such. I keep getting these error message: Unable to Find Analysis File TechSupp.

            Haha, that's hilarious! Same thing.

            Thanks, I'll look into that!

Okay, so I found a way to do it, but now I need to find the winsniff.exe file. I tried to Search it, but my damn laptop's search function isn't working.

              Two questions here:

              1) Can anyone locate which folder it would be in for me?
              2) Anyway to find out how to make Search work? It has the dog, but nothing above him.

Sorry, I don't have winsniff.* anywhere on my pc.

If you can do a search in your registry, that may help you find out where it is.

look on the cd for the file, it appears that this file is placed into a temp directory when you install the game
