Pretty much. I like how he didn't include how the two formats are actually selling to consumers among his reasons for making the switch, since I guess it's hard to spin a 2:1 sales disadvantage. And he didn't deny the $ either....

I don't expect the CTO to announce it, but if those rumors weren't true, the CTO would deny them. I was merely speaking to the point others have made in that thread that rumors of a payoff were just that - rumors. They're pretty clearly fact at this point.

It's just funny to hear someone spinning their reasons for joining the HD-DVD camp, when the only thing that really matters to a company's bottom line is which format consumers are buying, and that hasn't been HD-DVD up to this point in time. He can spin it all he wants, but if HD-DVD's so awesome, you'd think it would be selling a little better.

The holidays should be interesting, though the point I made in my other post still stands. HD-DVD isn't going to bring many people into their camp, in the middle of a format war, even with a $199 player. Those people will stick it out with regular DVD until there's a unified format.

Question for anyone who may know, with the Paramount releases on BR being canceled and one of those being Blades of Glory which is due out this Tuesday, are they going to have this title out on time on HD-DVD or is there a delay due to the switching of formats? I would think that this deal was probably in the works for awhile and was only recently announced and therefor they had enough time to switch up production but at the same time Im not sure, so if anyone has a clue I would love to hear the answer.

There is only a HD-DVD of Blades of Glory coming out. The Blu-ray was canceled, and I'd bet this has been in the works for awhile, and never produced.

It was always coming out on HD-DVD though.

Thanks, I completely forgot that it was already coming out on HD, for some reason I kept thinking it was BR exclusive. If anyone happens to get their hands on Heroes on HD-DVD, let me know how it looks if you could.

Just watched Wild Hogs on Blu-Ray. First Blu-Ray I've watched on my new 1080p set, and I'm amazed. I really need to start looking out for a good deal on the HD-DVD player since I now have a 360 in my living room again.
