    360 HD-DVD Drive Question

Hey fellas, I'm thinking about picking up the add-on for the 360, and was wondering, does it convert (upscale) all of my current DVD's? I have hundreds of DVDs, and was wondering if the picture quality would look any better than my current dvd player. I doubt I'll be buying that many HD-DVD's anytime soon, so it'd be rather redundant for me to pick on up if it didn't enhance my current collection.

Upscaling can only be done on VGA or HDMI cable, and since the 360 doesn't have HDMI (yet), you'll have to go with VGA.

Crap... is there a big difference in picture quality if I do go that route? Is it worth it?

I have two HDTVs. The big one I game on and play my movies on, VGA came out washed out. Sharp and all but just dull.

The one upstairs, the smaller one, VGA came out better than component.

It all depends on your TV. I tried adjusting the settings on the bigger one but it didn't come out to how I liked it so I returned the cables.

Rumors are floating HDMI will come soon, but who knows how soon. One can only hope. Although I'm really satisfied watching HD movies on the 360 player. Component looks terrefic. Get the VGA and if you don't like it, return it. At worse you'll just lose some time.

Well my HDTV is an LCD, so I'm assuming that VGA will look pretty decent on it anyway... not entirely sure though. Shouldn't be any worse than watching HD feeds through my PC, right?
