For me personally I use Winamp for all audio and WMP for most video. I use Winamp 5.32 Pro with DFX 7.5 audio enhancement and it works great. I keep all my music in one folder on my hard drive and I have 5 playlist (Rap, Country, Spanish, Trace/House and old R&B)

I've given iTunes numerous shots to win me over and it fails every time. It takes up to much real estate and the mini player isn't practical for my needs. It also does a very poor job of keeping up with my library of music and never seems to update it self when I add new files not from the iTunes store. Also at this point I could never truly switch since when my library comes up in Winamp it's neat and the artist and song title are in their correct fields. But when I have tried to use iTunes and WMP many of those fields come up blank. One thing that really makes me mad about iTunes is that when you try to import your Library of music it makes all these extra folders for each artist and renames files and just @$!(* #$% up.

I could use Winamp for videos but since Im only watching one video at a time and theirs no need for a playlist I just let all my video files stay associated with their default players. RealPlayer is not even on my computer and I have a plug in for Winamp so that I can play any RM file that I may happen to run across of.

One thing that really makes me mad about iTunes is that when you try to import your Library of music it makes all these extra folders for each artist and renames files and just @$!(* #$% up.

A very easy to disable feature.

That being said, I love the organization that iTunes creates with it's folders and the like. iTunes is just an excellent program all the way around.

I absolutely love winamp and will always have it on my computer. (v. 2.94) With that said, iTunes is an all around better program at this point in the digital music revolution.

Winamp in every way imaginable. If I could design my own media player from scratch it would be Winamp.

I'm a WMP person myself but I haven't really delt with Winamp in such a long time I cant comment on it. Last time was on my older cpu and it crashed all the time.

I'm a hardcore Winamp fan, and I too use the DFX enhancement plugin to increase sound quality.

When I am at work, I just use the old school Winamp skin and listen to XM satellite radio broadcasts. The quality is mediocre, but it's good enough to supply some kickass 1960's tunes along with relaxing classical music when I need to concentrate on a task.

I'm also obsessed with using the coolest skins with Winamp on my home computer. I have looked long and far, and there is one skin that continues to draw me back like no other. Check it out, it's called drone:



The amount of color themes for this skin is staggering. It is so f'n cool, and best of all, it has been updated to work smoothly with the latest version of Winamp.

WinAmp for music, VLC Media Player for video.

WinAmp is a lean program with a ton of options for audio quality. I use the Lite version, absolute bare bones.

No video player can touch VLC. Nothing is even close. You can throw damn near ANY format at VLC, and it will play -- without any codec downloads. It's the Swiss Army knife of video players. Plus it's free, and the picture quality is excellent.

You're missing out if you're not using VLC.

iTunes....kinda mad though...

after i downloaded the latest version, i put my ipod in it asked me to rename the ipod and it erased everything on it

Whats even worse was my old pc with all my songs broke and we just got a new PC

I'm noticing more and more that the younger generation does'nt even have a decent cd collection. Whenever somebody young comes to my house they are in awe of my cd collection like they've never seen a compact disc before. Then they say stuff like "I never saw how he looked before, but I'm a big fan", "I did'nt know he made this song" and my personal favorite "I did'nt know such-n-such was white/black".
