Computer Question

Which is better and you can only choose one...

1) upgrading from 1GB DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHZ, 2 DIMM to 2GB (cost $185)or...

2) upgrading from Intel Core 2 Duo T5600 (1.83 ghz, 2MB L2 Cache, 667 mhz fsb to core 2 duo T7200 (2.00ghz, 4mb l2 cache, 667 mhz fsb) Cost $75

For what its worth, I have an external 250gb HD so drive space is not an issues. Basically I just don't know which would be the best, most cost efficient upgrade.

Wouldn't I be better off just getting the faster processor and then just buying some ram later on? Or is that difficult to install in a laptop?

I would upgrade the RAM. I don't think you'll see much of a benefit in upgrading the processor.

RAM allows you to do more things at the same time. I really doubt you're doing anything that requires more than a gig of RAM.

so would you recommend upgrading the processor from 1.83 to 2 with more cache or just leaving both as is?

I'd leave it. I don't think either of those upgrades will give you a significant increase in performance, especially if you're just using it for Internet, etc.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I'll basically just be using for email/aim/internet, itunes, and cd/dvd burning

I reinstalled windows and ever since I have had no sound. Would it be safe to delete all my audio codecs in the control panel of my computer? What are my options?
