    Bond Movies

There has been some discussion of the films in the Casino Royale and Ultimate Edition DVD threads, but I thought this deserved it's own, just a chance to discuss all the films.

I haven't seen even half, but of the one's I have seen I would rate them like this:

    1. Goldfinger (9/10)
    2. Dr. No (9/10)
    3. The Spy Who Loved Me (8/10)
    4. Casino Royale (8/10)
    5. GoldenEye (7/10)
    6. The Living Daylights (7/10)
    7. The Man With The Golden Gun (7/10)
    8. A View to a Kill (6/10)
    9. Tomorrow Never Dies (6/10)

      Re: Bond Movies

      1) On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969)
      2) From Russia With Love (1963)
      3) Goldfinger (1964)
      4) Dr. No (1962)
      5) Licence To Kill (1989)
      6) Thunderball (1965)
      7) The Living Daylights (1987)
      8) Casino Royale (2006)

Top 5 are set in stone. Casino Royale might rise or fall when I see it again.

I highly recommend reading the novels. In order. If you have not done so already

I've seen almost every Bond movie. Except for one of the Moore and Dalton flicks.

          2. Goldfinger

          4. The Spy Who Loved Me
          5. From Russia With Love
          6. The Man with the Golden Gun
          7. Moonraker (it's different but I liked it)
          8. Goldeneye
          9. Tomorrow Never Dies
          10. Dr. No

            Re: Bond Movies

I've always loved the concept of James Bond but never really loved any of the movies. They just seemed to lack something for me. I just watched Casino Royale and I liked the old school type of character. Less gadgets and more super bad-*** spy stuff. It was a good but not great movie imo. By the end of the movie the plot didn't really seem to be there. Seriously, taking down a bad guy by beating him at a poker table? I liked the direction of this movie though and hope the second one with Craig is even better.

I still think the best spy or Bond type of movie I have seen was True Lies (although a little too much domestic stuff mixed in). Great plot, some gadgets, spy work, humour and action. Loved that movie.

it was more realistic than DNA changing North Koreans out to burn the world with a sky satellite reflecting the sun's light. The villan in Casino Royale was more concerned about covering his own *** than ruling the world. Much more believable.

I also liked the first Bourne Identity movie, but thought it lost some of the wheels with the second, now they have a third.

As Shaquille O'Neal left the Suns practice court, he yelled out, "Alvin's the coach. We must be the Clippers. And I must be Olowokandi. Nooooo!"

I loved the poker aspect in Casino Royale. That was a brilliantly executed scene, IMHO.

The poker stuff was really cool. Its just that the whole movie ended up being about taking down a bad guy by beating him at poker. Just found that odd when the movie was over. I still liked the movie and I would give it 3 stars out of 4.

it wasn't just about taking a bad guy down by beating him at poker. He was trying to save his ***, and due to him being a math genius, could win money in games like poker. Everything Le Chiffre did was to get the money back that he lost earlier in the film.

No. I actually enjoyed the two Bond movies that Timothy Dalton played in alot more than most of the Roger Moore stuff.
