Just now I brought up wikipedia to look up something and the opening page was a large picture of a male "crank"..my kid was in the room so a backed out immediatly...I tried one more time, this time the homepage had a picture of a ****** "junk"...basically porn..what the hell is up with that? I have never looked up anything like that....on wikipedia, and my kid is just 4 and doesnt know how to navigate sites, or look up stuff like that! So what gives?

It may just be spyware or adware. Try downloading Spybot off download.com.

I'd suggest:

Spyware Blaster http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html
-enable all protections

spybot search and destroy http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html
run a scan every few weeks if you spend a lot of time on the internet
or
windows defender http://www.microsoft.com/athome/secu...e/default.mspx

and a free anti virus like AVG free if you don't have one.

If a kid knows how to accidentally dial 9-1-1, a kid also accidentally knows how to surf for porn.

In all honesty, either download something to remove what appears to be Spyware (I use ewido anti-spyware... can't go wrong with that). It also may have been downloaded and put in as one of your Startup programs, so try going to Run - msconfig - Startup. See if there's some file that looks out of ordinary on there. You can copy and paste the list here if you're unaware.

im on an imac, spybot only show windows type options. am i missing something or do i have to use something else
