I don't understand how they could not have caught on. Even if someone was confused at the start his examples made sense in that he showed how they started in cents and one can't magically convert to dollars without the appropriate division.
How can it be so confusing to these people, my god, .002/cents is completely different than .002/dollars. When you do the math it's easy to see it's 71 cents, not 71 dollars.
This reminds me of when I tried to pay the county taxes on my car. Idiots couldn't read where the rebates were not taken out of the sale price when the form had everything clearly marked line by line and wanted to charge me double taxes. Even the supervisor for the county couldn't understand.
It amazes me how these people can be where they are and not comprehend something so simple...I mean, I am a Parks and Rec major and I know this stuff...
$ ---- Cents
1.00 ---- 1.00
.002 ---- .002
Its so simple, at least to me....and that says A LOT, I sucked so bad at math thats why I only took one math course in college.
this is a sad part of america..it's like public schooling at work!
It's so sad when people don't know math. I was amazed by a probable high school dropout working at Sonic. I don't remember the exact details, but essentially she got confused with all the individual bills and change I gave her to pay for seperate orders, that she ended up handed me back more cash than I gave her.
hilarious, and sad at the same time. I could have so left with the money too.
