Re: Latest TMNT trailer
OK I found the trailer....
I dunno, I'm not really feeling this movie. The animation looks a bit TOO rubbery, the voice acting leads a lot to be desired and well it doesn't feel like a real TMNT movie without Shredder.
Also while the movie looks dark the actual tone doesn't seem too dark to me. This movie is only going to be a rental unless I hear good reviews from OS'ers.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Latest TMNT trailer
I still have a first printing of issue #2 in black and white, I was a HUGE Turtle/Cerebus fan. Lee originally said he wanted to go back to those days for this movie, but this looks more like the bubblegum crap that came out once they went mainstream. TMNT used to be about blood and honor...not jokes and skateboards. OH well,..still looks pretty cool.Hank's Custom Collectibles 3D printer/painter extraordinaireComment

Re: Latest TMNT trailer
I guess I'm the only one who thought the movie looked fun. The turtles are supposed to have kind of a dark setting (they are supposedly ninjas, after all) but not really dark as in a bleak atmosphere. The original movie captured the feel perfect. The turtles are teenagers who are genuinely happy and have fun but tragedy struck and it subdued them some and forced them to act more like adults. They were originally created as a spoof, or a joke, it would be a mistake to try to duplicate the original graphic novels for a major motion picture.
I think the animation looks just ok. I think the turtles look great but the few humans I saw looked like 3D versions of the characters from Batman The Animated Series which isn't the best look. I actually liked the voice acting, from what I heard. They sound like they just tried to duplicate the voices from the first trilogy, minus Donatello sounding like Cory Feldman (he sounds more like the cartoon version, which in actuallity is probaby a better fit even though I did love Feldman's Donatello). The Mike and Leo voices sounded spot on to me.Comment

Re: Latest TMNT trailer
I concur on all points. It looks really good to me. I've never stopped being a fan of the turtles and when I was in the 5th grade I was even a plagiarist (Teenage Mutant Ninja Racoons ftw, didn't even need artificial masks) along with a buddy of mine (Teenage Mutant Ninja Rabbits). Ahhh, good times.I guess I'm the only one who thought the movie looked fun. The turtles are supposed to have kind of a dark setting (they are supposedly ninjas, after all) but not really dark as in a bleak atmosphere. The original movie captured the feel perfect. The new movie looks awesome, and I am glad they did it in the right format, 3d animation. So many great comic movies could be made if they stopped trying to adapt them to live action and went right to computer animation. I wish they'd done the Ultimate Avengers like that instead of traditional hand drawn animation.
Anyway, back to the TMNT trailer, the humans do look like 3d versions of the Batman series but I can live with that. The voice acting I heard sounded goo and I can't wait to check this out when it comes to dvd. Unfortunately, I do not attend theatres anymore so every new movie is a dvd rental for me.PS: You guys are great.
