Anyone else get the notification that as of Jan 15th you will have to pay for AVG Anti Virus? Apaarently that's not the case.

My work blocks that link you posted, what does the article say? I've been getting that no more updates screen from AVG over the past month, so that's not true? We will still get free updates?

Yeah, the pop up that came up was definitely NOT clear on the issue.

They came out with a new version 7.5 and yes it will be free, so they will stop updating the 7.1.... version.

I downloaded 7.5 a while ago. Haven't had a need for updates since then. It would be a sad day in my home when AVG stops being free.

Since my McAfee service that came with my cpu expired, I thought I should look for a free antivirus that works...this looks like it will do the trick...Thanks!
