I never gave this show a chance even though all my friends said this show would fit my interest perfectly. I always knew about it, but for some reason never went out of my way to watch it. Now recently my cousin was saying id like it, and I should start watching it. So I did some research on it. I see its already in season 4, but A lot of people seem to think its been going down hill fast season by season and is possibly going to get canned soon. So the question is, was the first few seasons, which friends and my cousin claim were great, worth buying the dvd's for? Is it worth trying to get caught up?

I thought the first two seasons were good. Season 3 was really dull IMO. This season has been a whole lot better than last year. You can tell though that it is running out of steam. This year's show I think even has a reduced number of episodes.

I've missed the entire season this year. Just wait and get it on DVD when it comes out. Always have to work, and forget to tape it.

I just finished watching season 1 on DVD the other night (I caught it when it was originally aired) and thought it was still great, plus I really like the music selections for the scenes. Season 2 I thought was good, but not nearly as memorable as the first season (seriously, the whole Oliver story arc was golden IMO). I stopped watching midway through the 3rd season after Marissa's whole lesbian/beach-skater boy thing and I'm happy she's gone. I haven't watched a full episode of this season, but from what I've seen, it seems to be back on track. I'm surprised they didn't end it at the highschool graduation though, but whatever.

first season was amazing. it was just so fresh and new and the dialogue was one the best in a awhile. i suggest getting that...however that was the only season i truly enjoyed. 2 was ok but not great. 3 was ehhhhhhhComment

Hmm a bunch of 25 year old looking actors playing the role of high schoolers, drama is way over the top and nobody can actually act.
The one episode I saw the "high schoolers" were helping with some undercover drug bust at some crazy party and long story short they saved the world blah blah blah. Hey, totally realistic.
