Didn't realize he had a heart attack on the set of Everybody Loves Raymond back in 1999. At the age of 55 he had a stroke that rendered him speechless for 6 months.

I wonder if that was one of the reasons they ended the show.

        RIP

While the last couple seasons were brutal to watch on EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND Peter Boyle was still the one constant. He was always funny and brought a sense of fun into the show. At least he had the greatest success in life in what turned out to be his last years.

        Again RIP Mr. Boyle.

Wow, that's sad to hear, he's hilarious and a great actor.

Here is an article over three years old where he talks about his 1999 heart attack.

Not mine. He was an integral part of the show's success but wasn't all that likeable.

                    There's always one, huh?

Anyway, this sucks. I loved him on Everybody loves Raymond as well.

He's from Philly. Went to my high school, West Catholic. He was inducted into the school's hall of fame either my sophomore or junior year, I forget. He spoke to all us kids and the other guests that were there. Cool dude.

Then you missed the point of his character.
