    DVD recorders.....help

So I want one for christmas what kind should I get? What features are out there? I'm a video/film production guy so making copies of my work on dvds would be essential but I would like to copy tv shows of tv for sure and off camcorders...This is all possible right and is a hard drive essential?

    Thanks guys

I have a Sony RDR-VX500. It's a DVD/VCR combo so you can dub from video to DVD with the press of a button. It will also record from TV, DISH/DirectTV, camcorders, etc. It has worked flawlessly for me. It was about $350 when I bought it last year. I can't tell you how many movies I've recorded on DVR and then onto DVD. It has probably saved me $350 on movies that I may have been on the border about buying or not.

I just got a Samsung DVDR135 and its great. There is a camcorder input to transfer your dvd video as well. No hard drive required which made this cheaper by at least $100 than the HDD ones.
