    Other Mountain Dew Flavors
    • Code Red (2001) — Cherry Mountain Dew. Not the same as the original Mountain Dew Red.
    • LiveWire (2003) — Orange Mountain Dew. First introduced as a limited-time product for the summer season, it is now a permanent addition to the Mountain Dew family. Limited in some areas.
    • Pitch Black (2004) — Grape Mountain Dew. Limited edition flavor for Halloween. No longer available.
    • Baja Blast (2004) — Tropical-lime and pineapple flavored Mountain Dew. Available exclusively at YUM! Brands' Taco Bell restaurants. While it was initially introduced under the impression of being a limited-time product in 2004, it is still available today at most Taco Bells.
    • "Phoenix" (2007) — An unreleased new Mountain Dew product that has been recently rumored to come out in early 2007. Early speculation on "Phoenix" suggests that if the product is indeed real it may be some sort of "lite" brand portfolio branch off of Mountain Dew and not a new Mountain Dew flavor.

I see Livewire everytime I got to the grocery store, still get it every now and then. Regular Mountain Dew is still the best. I like Mello Yello, but can't get that around here.

More importantly, whatever happened to the different Mountain Dew flavors that came out a couple of years ago? I believe I still see Code Red around, but I don't see the orange and grape flavors anymore... If I recall correctly, wasn't there a pineapple one, too?
I worked at a Pepsi bottling warehouse for about a year in 2005. Livewire still was being sold (at least out in Seattle). Pitch Black was sold around Halloween in 2004 and then they came out with Pitch Black II around Halloween in 2005. I didn't see it this year though. Code Red is still around also. Those were the only ones I remember Pepsi still selling last year.

I loved Surge, I always wondered where it went, I guess Norway is the answer.

My wife had a Surge alarm clock her father gave her, it screamed SURGE! extremely loudly when it went off. That thing messed up more dreams than I care to remember.

My college roomate had that exact same alarm clock. He won it through some cap promo game they had when Surge first hit the market. I can sleep through any alarm clock (and have), but that bastard scared the hell out of me every morning. College hangovers, 7 am, and a Surge alarm clock do not go well together.

I liked it, it was pretty good. My workmate and I were sort of soda "connoisseurs", so one day I went out to lunch and saw the new Pitch Black. I picked one up for each of us, since I knew he would want to try it. We looked like a couple of wine tasters as we tried it. It did have a bit of an aftertaste, but overall, pretty good. The LiveWire was some good stuff.

dnL tasted like Surge/Vault too. That stuff was classic, but I don't see it anywhere anymore.

You cant buy them at the grocery store anymore. You can only get the little single serving bags at hotels, etc.

                      I'm addicted to those things.
Well I was at Krogers tonight and they have Tato Skins, but the product has been relabeled...it's now promoted in a red & white bag under the TGI Friday's label. In fact, this week they have Cheddar & Sour Cream Tato Skins on sale at Krogers for $1.32 for a big bag. I got two. Booyah!

I actually drank Surge in Middle School everyday for 3 months. That was before the Supersize Me days when the worried about kids pounding sugar all day long.

Sigh..reading this topic makes me really miss soda machines in school. Right now we're only allowed to have water, which is disgusting. I need to start doing my idea of buying a bottle of water, dumping it, and filling it with Gatorade Ice every morning.

I'm the complete opposite, the only time I drink soda is if I go out to dinner some where. If Im anywhere else I drink just water. I hate the way soda makes my teeth feel grimey after I've had a drink of it. And since I've stopped drinking it a lot, my teeth have gotten a lot whiter and I've probably lost a couple pounds to.

I'm with you, i'm drinking a big glass of ice cold water right now. Since I gave up sodas and pretty much became a water / iced tea guy I feel so much better health wise and my teeth too have seem to have gotten whiter (do you guys have any idea how much damage sodas do to your teeth?). As it is now I drink about 2 or 3 sodas a week (diet) and the rest of what I drink is water (or on Fridays some beer).

And man I really don't see how ANYONE can say water is "disgusting". I'll bet you'd not say that if you were lost without it somewhere!

Does anyone else remember the Blue Raspberry stuff Pepsi rolled out about 3 or 4 years ago (around the same time Vanilla Coke came out)? Man that stuff was nasty, and apparently everyone else thought so as it disappeared really fast.
