Watch the show in chronological order...Don't buy the later seasons before watching the earlier ones. The show is intense because of the crazy twists it has and some of them won't have much impact if you don't know who these characters are.

Just buy how every many you want/can this year. They'll go on sale for $20 again. They were $20 each last Christmas too at Best Buy.

Season 1 is still my favorite season.

Candy, just trust us. Start with Season 1. This will get you the background, as a lot of the characters are recurring. You want to start from the beginning, for sure. Get Season 1 through however much you wanna spend, in order.

The show is unbelievable. It is literally the only drama that I watch during the year, and with good reasons. The thrills are incredible, the twists are shocking, totally unpredictable (especially at first). Each season starts one way, and once you get to the end of the "day", you'll wonder how the hell everything changed so much, yet was completely linked throughout. Multiple storylines, one "main" storyline, and all of them work with each other.

Of course you know about the "real-time" nature of the show ,that is, each episode is an hour of the day, and each season makes up one day. Therefore, the episodes are "8:00pm - 9:00pm", and so forth. On top of the revolutionary format, the cinematography is excellent. Add the fact that the soundtrack is perfect, and it's just a total recipe for greatness.

I'll stop rambling, just buy it.

Like TheMatrix31 said.... You gotta start with season 1 and work your way through them.

LOL! Why is everyone assuming that I wouldn't start with season 1? I don't think I ever made any comments about jumping around, I would never do that. When I watch a tv show on dvd, I start with Season 1 and work chronologically through the rest.

Cool, thanks everyone for posting your thoughts, I'm going to check them out on Sunday.

I think people just want to make sure you watch them all before trying to catch Season 6 when it starts next month. That could really put a damper on previous seasons if you do that.

LOL! I'm going to skip season six next month and just wait for it to come out on DVD, there is no way that I'll be able to get through 5 dvd sets in time. I'm hoping to be caught up for season 7.

24 is one of those shows I'd love to own on DVD, but since it's 24 hours long, I know I'll never watch again, shame, but knowing the twists/turns just doesn't pull me in again. I had season 1 on DVD, and sold it. It's a great deal if you've never seen them before though.

I've watched season 3 twice, season 4 twice, I'll watch season 5 again...seen seasons 1 and two once

                      All these are on DVD...so season 3/4 = 3 times total, 1/2 = 2 times total

Yeah, I made that way too confusing.

LMAO. Good thing that you enjoy the show this much to watch it more than a few times. It's awesome how DVD has allowed us to buy our favorite tv shows.

Make sure you don't read the backs on the later seasons. They are full of spoilers.

                            Thanks for the tip Xavier.

I stopped at Best Buy yesterday and I picked up the first 3 seasons of 24, they were out of S4 and 5.

Season 1 will always be special. Seasons two and three weren't as good for me. They tried to force to many relationships. The first one is still the best imo but last year was really good too.

1-3-5-4-2, in my opinion, but all were very good.

I got season 5 today, so I'll be watching that again soon
