    The Good Shepherd

Saw it tonight... not sure what to really make of this one. Matt Damon played Edward Wilson as a guy totally devoid of emotion, I really have to question how accurate his portrail of Wilson really was. Leaving this movie I felt really unpatriotic LOL. It seemed everyone one time or another turned on America in this movie... just crazy. It had its moments, but without a repeat viewing, and not having a great grasp of the history surrounding the beginning of the CIA, I never really got pulled into the story for this one. If you're a history buff you'll probably like it, but be prepared to sit through a long movie as this one is over 2 hours and 30 minutes long...

I'd like to hear what others thought about this movie... I'd probably give it a 6/10.

I thought this was one of the worst movies I have ever seen in theatre.

So it's about the beginnings of the CIA eh? Hmm owing to the length of the film and probably the talky nature of it i'll wait for it on DVD.

It did drag in places but I thought it was really interesting. I've always been a fan of movies based on true stories that no one has ever heard before. I would give it a 7/10.

          Thanks,

I figured in 2.5 hours, there could at least be a climax. It was just a series of events put together.

Also, as mentioned before, if you didn't know about the CIA or what counter-intelligence is (the people I went with didn't) then it was really tough to follow. About 3/4 of the people leaving the theater were utterly confused. More than a few walked out.

However, personally, I found it quite interesting how everyone was a spy and how effective both the Americans and Soviets were at planting spies everywhere. I wouldn't watch it again (too long), but I'd give it a 8/10.

Interesting movie, but one that I wish I would have never of bought the HD-DVD and just rented through NetFlix. I like movies about history, but when they are dry as this one it will chase people away. Like Superstar said, Damon was so emotionless that really contributed to the movie being dry.

Off to ebay so I can get some of my money back from this one.
