    Box Office This Weekend

Estimated ticket sales for Friday through Sunday at U.S. and Canadian theaters:

    1. "Night at the Museum," $30.8 million.
    2. "The Pursuit of Happyness," $15 million.
    3. "Rocky Balboa," $12.5 million.
    4. "The Good Shepherd," $10 million.
    5. "Charlotte's Web," $8 million.
    6. "Eragon," $7.15 million.
    7. "We Are Marshall," $6.6 million.
    8. "Happy Feet," $5.1 million.
    9. "The Holiday," $5 million.
    10. "The Nativity Story," $4.65 million.

Stiller's movie, "Night At The Museum" did better than expected. I saw it and I was pleasantly surprised.

Not surprised Night at the Museum did so well.

Night at the Museum looks like it came out at the right time. It looks fairly pedestrian to me.

It did come out at the right time, a perfect holiday family movie, but it is actually a fun movie to watch. Nothing groundbreaking or fall out of the seat funny, but it has cool effects, a fun story and some legitimate laughs. I don't know anyone who has seen it and didn't enjoy it.

Sometimes overhype will do that to a movie especially if it doesn't live up to said hype.

kind of weak totals outside of the Night at the Museum. I am surprised about We Are Marshall just about tanking it in the box office.

yah, I wasn't expecting the We are Marshall flop at all... Pursuit of Happyness is a feel good story, that got the women because it was gonna be a tear jerker... and it got the guys cause its Will Smith... Just a huge glut of movies these last two weeks really hurt some of the bigger releases. I'm surprised the movie studios didn't space out the roll outs a little better. I'm not complaining though, I've already caught Rocky, Pursuit of Happyness, and The Good Shepherd since Christmas break, and I plan to see quite a few more before I go back to school.
