Nice American anime "A Scanner Darkly"

"A Scanner Darkly" is set in suburban Orange County, California in a future where America has lost the war on drugs. When one reluctant undercover cop (Reeves) is ordered to start spying on his friends, he is launched on a paranoid journey into the absurd, where identities and loyalties are impossible to decode.

Has a great cast too. The only negative is that it could have been longer.

I got it for Christmas, turned it on while I was laying down and I fell asleep about a 1/3 of the way through... so far, so good though. I'll have to catch the other 2/3rds sometime later this week.

It's not anime. They are the real people just vectored over. It's a vectored movie.

Awesome movie. Amazing acting by Reeves, Downy Jr and Woody. Its so funny when they get so paranoid off this drug. The creaters of this movie created a movie called "A waking life."

I'm not sure why you are calling it an anime though. Its animation over live acting, i'm not sure that would considered anime.

One of the few movies that I couldn't follow perfectly. Even after watching it twice. But a good movie nonetheless.

I have yet to see the movie ... but it's a fantastic book.

Just saw this today... it's crazy. Reminds me a little bit of 1984. I love the way they captured it though, with that cell shaded look. Very cool.
