Home Theater System

I'm looking for a relatively cheap, quality home theater system with HDMI and (preferably) a 5-disc DVD changer. I think I also want a SPDIF connection (I'm not sure if I would need this or not though).

I have been eying this one up for a while now and conveniently fits in my budget as well as has HDMI: http://www.amazon.com/o/ASIN/B000FCN...468346-7743934

So my question is (1) does this look like a decent set for the $200 price tag?

and (B) If anyone knows this, is the SPDIF necessary to get sound out from the TV into the system? I thought my parents needed the SPDIF hooked up to get sound from their cable box into the system but maybe I'm mistaken.

If anyone can help me with either question I would greatly appreciate it.

The SPDIF is a digital sound connection,either optical or coax,that allows you to hear Dolby Digital(2.0 and 5.1) and DTS sound.As this is the standard on almost all movies ,many video games,and some TV broadcasts,it is pretty important.
