    Digital Photography

I got a Canon Powershot S3 IS for Christmas and have been playing around with it for a little bit since then. Anyway, I was just curious if anybody had any cool tricks, hints, tricks, etc for picture taking.

Try taking pictures off center is one of the biggest things I learned, like most people i always centered the camera on the main part of the picture I was taking, but after reading some hints on photography, one of them was to take pics off center and I've gotten some great results doing so. Also, try taking pictures with the camera diagonal to the subject as opposed to straight.

One of the cool things about my camera, and I'm sure most digital cameras have this as well, is that it displays on a grid on the screen ala the rule of thirds grid. For some reason, that part of photojournalism stuck with me, but its a very good rule for framing and quite easy to remember.
