Create your own Guitar Hero songs!

EDIT: My version of Here Without You by 3 Doors Down

My version of Snow by Red Hot Chili Peppers

I hope this gets some responses and tries rather than just looks, but there is a site out there:

Where you can actually go into an editor and create your own riffs for a Guitar Hero song. I've already done Here Without You by 3 Doors Down, and I'm currently working on Snow by Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Anyway, if you download the editor and find out the controls... it does take a few hours to complete (especially because of the timing), but in the end IMO it's worth it. Then there's a "game" that you can download to see what it looks like on the Guitar Hero fretboard, and if you convert your keyboard keys to a Guitar Hero controller somehow, you can end up even try playing your song. When I finish Snow, I will post my links here. I hope people at least give this an honest look, especially Guitar Hero fans.

Freetar also has a message board where people are posting their own songs, but I haven't checked them out yet. Most of them are too hard rock for me.

At any rate, there is some way to put these songs on your Guitar Hero or Guitar Hero 2 game, but that requires some sort of PS2 modding that I know we're not allowed to get into on this site.

Here is the link to the editor:

And here is the link to the "game":

    Have fun!

What difficulty are you creating Snow on and wondering if you might upload it?

I'm not a GH fan but a ton of guys on DSP are, take this post there, it is not as child safe oriented as OS and I think can be freely discussed there.

In case you are are not familiar with DSP, it is....

You have to register to post, but you can discuss a few things that are not allowed on OS.

      Just trying to help.

Well, all of my songs are going to be Expert difficulty. Believe me when I say that I'm trying to combine both lead and rythym guitar when I can, so that it's not ALWAYS fingerpicking... but it's a tough song, believe me. I'm trying my best not to hold back when it comes to hitting a note.

Did you download the editor and the game?

Anyway, I'm at a "Work In Progress" point after the second chorus with Snow. I tell you... I wish that it were easier than just copying and pasting all the time. Unfortunately, timing is everything in this game, and the songs aren't perfect... I have to slow the entire song down 1/4 the speed and re-revise everything... it's especially tough when the words come in.

BUT, I'll show you what I have so far. Again, I'm not done, but I'd beware... it's a scary song. As a matter of fact, it even surprised me how hard it was, and I can play this song on regular guitar!

            YES! I finally finished Snow!

I must say... I am very proud of my work. I really feel like I made songs that I could like... submit to Red Octane. Anyway, if you guys have any time on your hands, I would love for you guys to check out these songs. Just go download the "game", and then open the song with that.

This song took me about 10 hours to finally complete. Like I said, timing on this program is a bitch. I'd really appreciate it if people gave this a look and gave me their honest input on it.

I am now going to do the impossible: attempt to recreate Canon Rock (Pachelbel's Canon with electric guitar) in Guitar Hero format. I will be considered my "boss song".

              This may take a week...

Okay, this is for guys that are interested in this... you must have the MP3 for the song that you want to see be GH'ed.

If you want something with some difficulty try the band Dragonforce. I think their BPM is around 200

Or Dream Theater or anything with ridiculous guitar work for that matter.

Dragonforce and Dream Theater are both on the site already. Got to youtube and type in "guitar hero dragonforce" and you can watch a vid of someone playing the song.

I'm not sure its humanly possible.
