    Another wireless router question

Ok, I have a DLink di624 router right now, but due to some issues connecting with some people on live, for Christmas I got the linksys wrt54g or whatever its called, the one w/o the speedbooster that tons of people here seem to have. My question is once I get the software loaded up on my laptop, can I just unplug the dlink and plug the linksys right in? Will that screw anything up? Because i'm sure the directions are going to say power down the modem, etc etc, when I could just basically switch them out.

It should be plug and play. I have the speedbooster version of that one.
