My family has been with Road Runner for maybe 4 years. Somethin like that. but we've always been having problems. The cable guys have come out here like 12 times already. I'm like what the hell are you gonna do this time?
The problem is, while we're on the internet, the signal will drop (or cut off) all of a sudden. Sometimes it'll come back on by itself. Other times we have to reset the modem. This is really becoming a problem because whenever I download something, the connection will start crappin out and the download will stop. I end up having to start all the way over. And it really sucks when you're playing a ranked game on Gears of War and Xbox Live gets disconnected. I don't even check my rep anymore
At first we were using the cable modem they gave us connected to a Wireless Router. Then they gave us a new cable modem (we prolly got bout 3 different ones from them). Now we have this Netgear modem that seems to work as a wireless router also. We were using 2 computers that had wireless adapters (along with my brother hooking up with an Ethernet cable to play PS2 online). Now me and my brother have laptops that had wireless adapters built in so we have 4 computers going wireless to the router. Not sure if that's the problem. Maybe it'll help to disconnect a computer's connection when no one is on it?
