    Verizon FIOS TV

Anybody have this yet? They're currently installing it in my town and the lineup is looking pretty good so far, while the pricing is much better than Comcast.

Just curious what others experiences have been.

Shop Verizon smartphone deals and wireless plans on the largest 4G LTE network. First to 5G. Get Fios for the fastest internet, TV and phone service.

My friend has it. Loves it. I think he pays $25/month for 5 up / 2 down. Also has FiosTV, which I don't think is anything extra spectacular, but it's a package price (for ~$60 for both I think). Very stable, very fast, very reliable. They do give you a monstrosity for a modem though.

My friend has it also and it's better then comcast in almost everyway (comcast has a marginally better DVR but that's about it.) The HDTV in particular is amazing. Great lineup (HDNET!) and a better picture then directv, dish, and comcast. I wish they would install it in Baltimore though...

Sweet, Verizon just updated their line up and its pretty impressive. More HD channels, just added the Big Ten Network among others. ESPNews in HD, definitely a good thing. Switched from cablevision a while ago and not looking back, actually get the NFLN now so I'm happy.

Really? I live in the Boston market and I've only seen CNBCHD and USAHD added recently. Anyone else in the Boston market know of any new channels?

I just got FIOS TV on Friday and there are a few things that are really annoying. The reponse time for the remote sucks. It literrally takes 1.5 seconds for the guide to come on, or if I hit the record button.

I also hate how you can't jump to different days in the guide and the guide's descriptions are terrible. For Sunday Night Baseball it says "Two teams sitting second in their respective divisions go at it." WTF is that?

My biggest issue is the clock. Is there anyway to have the time displayed at all times on the set top box? I can't stand that.

Yes, it is in the settings menu under "Set Top Box" (or something like that). BUT, it does switch to the channel number when you change, and then it goes back to the clock - but there is a delay. And I think the delay is a random time delay as it never seems to be the same each time. There were times where I didn't think it would go back, but it eventually did...

The info is usually spot on, but sometimes it will say that. I completely agree with the time thing though, very annoying. I was used to iO where it would always be on the box. It's an annoyance I can live with though, knowing I actually have the NFLN now, among other channels. No MSNBC though is kind of weird, not gonna pay extra for that.

Yeah, they just laid the fiber optic in my neighborhood. Scheduled for service in a few months.
