    It starts Feb. 8th.
The show starts off with 19 players this season. It was suppose to be 20 but one person dropped out one day before filming started.

I've watched Survivor right from the first episode but I'm getting a little burnt out. A lot of other long time Survivor fans I talk to feel the same way. But the ratings continue to be great so CBS has no reason not to have 2 seasons of Survivor each calender year.

I believe JP's contract is up after this edition or the next one.
I cannot believe this show is still going strong. I watched Survivor 2 through 4 and then I got burnt out. My wife will still watch it from time to time and I'll catch a few minutes of it here and there. What amazes me is that the personalities they pick are the exact same and all the arguments and discussions/tactics are the exact same from season to season.

I bet Survivor 14 could be done with actors each saying the exact same things that were said in Survivor 10 and nobody would notice a thing.

This show is beyond boring to me anymore. In fact, I'm sick of 'reality' TV. Nothing is original. Thank goodness there are some excellent shows out there like Lost or Heroes.

Edit: this show is very predictible. You know how the 'gay' guy is going to act and say. You know that there will be the lazy people that do nothing and everyone talks behind their backs. You know there will be the strong willed people that get in everyones face.
And in the end, the laziest, most unselfsufficiant person will go to the finals or win it all. This show could be done in my backyard. It has nothing to do with surviving in a wilderness setting. Most of the people that have won this show would curl into a ball and die 2 days into actually being lost or castaway.

Certain seasons have been quite boring, but i've actually found the past two to be entertaining. Intelligent and/or athletic people have actually won which is nice to see.

If it was the same thing over and over again nobody would watch it and it would have been off the air years ago. That's like saying the Super Bowl is the same thing over and over again... Survivor is a competition (edited for TV). Yes the rules and settings are similar each season, but how is that different from any other competition?

As for reality TV in general, I guess there is a lot of crap out there... but I honestly wouldn't know since other then Survivor I haven't really ever watched any. Nothing else has caught my interest, so it's simple... I don't watch it! I still don't really get all the hatred, but it's obviously still going strong.
      LET'S GO FLYERS, YANKEES, DOLPHINS!!!

You seriously don't think people would watch the same crap over and over again? Then why are Friends and Seinfeld reruns so popular? Why are Soap operas such big hits. Ever watch Oprah? It's the same crap.
People in North America are collection of sheep that clap and squeal over the simplest things.

I don't hate Survivor. I simply don't watch it. I was just amazed that this thing is 14 Seasons in. That alone shows you that people love repetitiveness. When's the last time Survivor didn't have the game in a warm weather, paradise like location? When's the last time they didn't use the token gay guy/girl, old stubborn guy, lazy hot girl, girl with big fake boobs, old useless woman...
It's the same show every year. But obviously millions of people like it. Hey, McDonalds has made billions off of selling the exact same menu for years. Don't mess with what works. If you like it great.
        But I'll pass.

I watched 20 minutes of a show last year and I seriously thought I was watching a rerun. All the conversations were the exact same. In fact, I think the challenge was the same too.

Ooh. I'll make a prediction. The challenge given to the final 3 contestants will be a grueling one testing their resolve and strength. Something like, who can stand on one leg while touching a stick the longest.

I will also predict that the strongest, hardest working person who is honest and trustworthy will not win. And more than likely they'll be voted out early due to the fact that people are threatened by them.

I will also predict that there will be at least one hot chick with big fake cans (possibly the only reason why I tuned in for 20 minutes last year - wasn't disappointed )

Look, if you like the show, cool. But please don't try to tell anyone that the show is so different season to season. The location, cast, challenges and backstabbing/strategy are the same each year.

Hahaha. After I finished typing this I went to www.cbs.com and checked out the survivor page. I already found the fake boob girl. In fact, you can actually zoom in on the contestants (no doubt to look at the toobage). Even CBS knows why the show is a hit each year.

P.S. I think James will be the token gay person.

I can certainly see your point. Now to me a rerun is definitely the same... hence the title rerun! I'll agree that each season of Survivor is similar, but the same can be said for pretty much any show when you think about it.

Also, I too am suprised the show has hung around this long. I remember when around season 7 hit I thought the show had become "tired" and would be over soon. I still don't see it hanging around much longer, but who knows if it's still getting ratings. It's one of the few shows my wife and I actually watch together so maybe that has something to do with why I still watch it!

I don't care about 24 since there aren't a million clones of it on tv. Survivor spawned all of this crappy reality game shows.

I've watched 4 or 5 seasons of Survivor. Maybe if I'd watched every one I'd be burnt out? But the last one (Fall 2006) was very good and there were a lot of new twists added that changed the game a bit. I don't think they had any fake boobs and the best player with mostly smarts did win it.

I watched a FEW episodes of the first season.

Please, just stop this damn show.

I was bored to tears last night. But since I started watching Day 1, I feel obligated to watch every episode until Survivor stops.

It's obvious the viewers still love this show. It got a huge 9.9 rating.

This is easily the worst season.

I'm glad Rocky and Lisi are gone. Considering Lisi wanted to quit, I find it amusing that she called her tribe a bunch of losers.

At least 2 HII's are in play. When the time comes, I don't see Yau-Man giving the II to Earl even though they have a spoken agreement to share it.

You can have her. All the chicks I cared about were gone in the first few episodes. I'm just glad that dirty skank Lisi is gone.
