This will probably happen in Phoenix if it ever snows. Good thing I learned my snow driving in alaska!

Re: Portland Drivers in the snow

Living in the Carolinas my whole life, I've seen people try to maneuver their way through snow and ice like that. Scary. That's why I try not to go out when it's like that. I'm not worried about myself. I'm worried about everyone else running into me.

There's gotta be a solid layer of ice under that snow because there's bairly any snow on the ground. Drivers in Portland can't be that bad.

Wow... that had to be a state of emergency.

You have to be right, Misfit... it seems like it's on a hill and with solid ice.

Its definitley solid ice, and i guess its a law in Portland not to put salt on the roads.

            ICE============== UNDRIVEABLE CONDITIONS..

            isnt it common sense?

its almost like telling a caveman that boiling water will hurt if you place your hand inside it... most people have a basic idea and knowledge.

it really makes me angry. almost hoping they get injured or dont get insurance money just so they can learn

It looked staged to me too, cars were picking up speed going sideways. If it is real, it had to be on an incline.

Haha, why did the moron in the red car start driving again after he had stopped?

That station wagon reminded me of a ball down a bowling alley.

These people are all morons for driving in these conditions.

That would be a nice BMW advertisement, as it was the only car to successfully make a turn.

I still think they're all morons. People that drive unnecessarily in these conditions ultimately end up causing damage and wasting the time of rescue crews.

We had just a small amount of ice this past week and I was on my way to work, driving about 15/20 mph...here a ice patch and lost control, I was slowing down coming to a stop sign and I almost went on the curb. Instead, I was able to just turn at the stop sign without stoping and I was okay. I couldn't imagine, bad conditions and driving on it.

Yes, alot of the people here in Portland act like the world is coming to an end whenever the weather turns bad and that video has been replayed over and over here on the local news. On Tuesday I went to work at Best Buy and we had literally 2 customers all day in my department, and nearly 80% of the employees said it was too dangerous to drive and didnt come in, it was a total joke.

I saw this on our local news the other night. Its pretty scary when you lose control like that, since you can't do anything to regain it back.

Theres a turn on my street that gets icy very easily, and when it does 2-3 people daily end up on the person's lawn. Nobody ever gets hurt luckily, but after a couple years it becomes a humorous act for all in the neighbourhood.
