memory upgrades for my E-machine

i need to upgrade my memory for my home cpu..I currently have one 512 mb ddr pc2100 stick inside with another slot open for an additonal stick. My mother board will hold up to 2 gigs of memory. My ? is what are my options? what kind of memory will work with my cpu?
My emachine is a T2200

If e-machines has a website, I bet you can check your machine on there to see they type of memory. Which processor do you have?

PC3200 DDR RAM........please don't quote me, but this is the type that I believe goes with Athlon XP as I have the same processor, mine is a 3200+.

even though the one stick i have in there is a pc 2100 512 mb, i can use a pc3200 stick

Use IE and go to http://crucial.com

Run the system scanner http://www.crucial.com/systemscanner/
and itll tell you exactly what you need. Itll give you 6 Questions and Answers and also a recommended list of compatible upgrades.

Then go to a place like newegg.com and search specifically for that Memory Stick.

Heres what crucial will recommend (this was for my computer.. but it lists certain specifics you will need to look for, in general):
DDR PC3200 • CL=3 • UNBUFFERED • NON-ECC • DDR400 • 2.6V • 64Meg x 64
So when you go to newegg, you can basically search for each of those specific catergories.

thanks man i just ran it and it says i can use 3 different types of memory, gives me numbers and everything.. i can even run vista with a meory upgrade...thanks again
