    Computers Acting Up

My 4 month old computer is being an *** lately. Random freezes, cant click anything in My Documents without it locking up to the point that I need to do a manual shutdown... and when I boot the computer back up the screen stays black for a god 3-4 min before the desktop shows up.

Virus scans turn up nothing.. Adware scans turn up nothing... I dont know what to do. I have no time to reinstall the OS so I was hoping there was a system utility I could run to check if theres any problems?

Try spybot, disk cleanup, disk defragment, and if that doesnt work try a system restore back to when it wasnt acting up.

Seems like you've got alot starting up, that'll slow you down right there. Norton is a system resource hog. Just my opinion though.

Do you have alot of files in your My Document folder? Have you ran disk defrag. lately?

I have a dual core so I dont feel a thing when Nortons running.

              Defragged last night... no change.

I have a lot of files in my My Documents but nothing more than usual when it used to work. Same with my startup....I've always had the same startup things but it was only this week that the screen stayed black for 5 min before the desktop popped up.

System restore back to a point when things weren't messing up, you could spend hours trying to get rid of whatever spyware/virus you may have, but you might be able to solve it in 5 minutes with a system restore. If that doesn't fix it, take your hijack log to a tech forum for quicker help.

Yeah, I run a dual core also. Not sure what your problem is then. Maybe try a system restore, if that doesn't work, then good luck.
