Re: 100 Greatest Stand-ups Of All Time??
Dane isn't really funny when it comes to his jokes as much as he is with his actions. There are some things he says that just would not be funny if you said them to someone who had never heard the material. That mixed with the fact that he's been called out on stealing material from other comedians such as Louis CK (who deserves to be higher because he is just a naturally funny comedian, on stage and off) means that he really can't be included with the rest of the people on that list. Of course it would help if the list was more recent than 2004Comment

Re: 100 Greatest Stand-ups Of All Time??
Pryor, Carlin, Rock, and Murphy(in that order) are the Mt. Rushmore of comedy for me.
Number 5 is very difficult to pick. It could be one of ten guys. I think I would actually pick Joe Rogan, based solely on his I'm Gonna Be Dead Someday CD. Its as funny as any comedy album I've ever heard.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Re: 100 Greatest Stand-ups Of All Time??
I can't argue much with the top 10. I saw this last year when it was shown on the Comedy Network here in Canada.
To me, Richard Pryor is the ultimate king of comedy and there's no one who even comes close to him. I'm glad to see Carlin at #2 as he really grew from a conventional observationalist comedian in the 60s to the crotchety guru of everything. Kinda like what I think Lewis Black will turn into in 25 years.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: 100 Greatest Stand-ups Of All Time??
Brian Regan is the funniest "clean" stand-up performer I have ever seen, and he is nowhere to be found. The guy's stories about growing up and being in school strangely mirror my own life.
Bill Hicks should be higher, IMO.
No doubt in my mind that Pryor is correctly listed as #1.NCAA: Michigan Wolverines
MLB: St. Louis Cardinals
NHL: St. Louis Blues
NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers
EPL: Liverpool RedsComment

Re: 100 Greatest Stand-ups Of All Time??
In response to previous posts: Yes, Joe Rogan may deserve a top 100 spot just because he is naturally funny (ignore Fear Factor, even he admits to hating that show and being under the influence almost every episode). And Brian Regan is a quality "clean act"Comment

Re: 100 Greatest Stand-ups Of All Time??
I saw an interview with Louis C.K. on The Daily Show and he seemed funny. So I decided to watch his HBO Special that was coming on. Boy, was I disappointed. I didnt find him funny at all.Comment
